Terms of Service
Last updated November 3, 2026
These terms cover your use of SessionCollab: the SessionCollab desktop app; SessionCollab accounts, our online service at https://account.sessioncollab.com for accounts, licences and billing; SessionCollab's relay, our online service that runs sessions over the internet; and this website. "We", "us" and "our" mean Inting Technologies Inc., the company that makes and sells SessionCollab. "You" means the person using SessionCollab and, if you use it for an organization, that organization too.
Agreeing to these terms
These terms are a contract between Inting Technologies Inc. and you. You accept them when you create an account, which the app asks you to do before anything else, or when you download, install or use SessionCollab. If you don't agree with them, don't use SessionCollab.
These documents also apply:
- Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect and how we use it.
- Our Refund Policy explains when you can get your money back. It is part of these terms.
- When you buy Pro, Paddle's buyer terms apply to the purchase (see Buying Pro).
If you accept these terms for a company or other organization, you confirm that you're allowed to do so.
If you're a consumer, the law where you live may give you rights that a contract can't take away. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.
About SessionCollab
SessionCollab is a desktop app for Windows and macOS. It connects each collaborator's Ableton Live (version 11 or 12) to a shared session, so you can work on the same Set together.
A few words we use in these terms:
- Session: a Live Set that collaborators share and work on together through SessionCollab.
- Host: the person who starts a session and invites others to join it.
- Relay: SessionCollab's service that connects the computers in a session and keeps the session's Set and files for them. We operate it.
- Pro: the paid plan you need to host sessions.
To use SessionCollab, you need Ableton Live, which Ableton AG sells separately. See Ableton Live and other software.
Who can use SessionCollab
You must be at least 16 years old to use SessionCollab. To buy Pro, you must also be old enough to make a binding contract where you live.
Your account
You need a free SessionCollab account to join or host sessions. You create it in the app, with your email address or with Google.
You're responsible for your account and for what happens through it. To keep it safe:
- Use an email address that is yours, and that you'll keep. We don't accept disposable email addresses.
- Keep your email account secure, and your Google account if you sign in with it. Anyone who can read your email can sign in to SessionCollab as you.
- Tell us right away at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your account.
The app lists the computers signed in to your account, and you can sign any of them out, or all the others at once (Settings › Account). A computer that hasn't used SessionCollab for 90 days is signed out, and every computer signs in again at least once a year.
You can download your account's data, or delete your account, at any time in the app (Settings › Account). If you have a subscription, cancel it first. Deleting your account can't be undone. It ends Pro on that account, including any time left in a paid period and any Lifetime licence. If you want a refund, ask for it before you delete your account. Our Privacy Policy explains what we delete and what we keep, and why.
Plans
Free
With a free account, you can join sessions you're invited to, with the access the host gives you: edit or view-only. You can't host sessions on the free plan.
Pro
Pro lets you host sessions, including on SessionCollab's relay over the internet. You can get it in three ways:
- Monthly: $9 per month, as a subscription that renews automatically every month until you cancel it.
- Yearly: $79 per year, as a subscription that renews automatically every year until you cancel it.
- Lifetime: $199, paid once. It covers SessionCollab 1.x, including every 1.x update. Later major versions of SessionCollab may be offered as paid upgrades.
Prices are in US dollars. Lifetime has no renewal payments. Like every Pro plan, though, it needs to reach our servers from time to time to renew its licence, as explained below.
Free trial
You can try Pro free for 14 days, without a payment card. You start the trial in the app, the first time you host. When it ends, you go back to the free plan unless you buy Pro. Nothing is charged automatically.
Each account gets one trial. Each computer can be used for one trial too, even with a different account. Don't create extra accounts to get more trials.
Computers and offline use
Pro works on up to 3 computers at the same time. To use it on another computer, sign one of the others out in the app (Settings › Account).
The app checks your plan with a licence that our servers sign and that is bound to your computer. While you're online, the app renews the licence automatically. When it can't reach our servers, Pro keeps working for up to 14 days on the licence it has. After that, the app needs to reach our servers again to renew the licence.
Buying Pro
Pro is sold through Paddle.com, our reseller, which processes the payment. Paddle's buyer terms apply to your purchase.
You buy Pro from the app, which opens Paddle's checkout in your browser. Before you pay, the checkout shows the final price, including any tax. It may show the price in your local currency.
Managing billing
To see invoices, change your payment method or cancel, open Manage billing in the app (Settings › Account). It opens Paddle's customer portal. Paddle's receipts also link to it, and you can find any order at paddle.net.
Automatic renewal
Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. At each renewal, Paddle charges your saved payment method for the next period, at the price of your plan then.
If a renewal payment fails, Pro keeps working for 7 days while Paddle tries again, and the app shows where to update your card. After that, Pro stops until the payment goes through. If Paddle can't collect the payment, the subscription ends.
Cancelling
You can cancel your subscription at any time in Manage billing. It then won't renew, and Pro keeps working until the end of the period you've already paid for. Until then, you can keep your subscription after all (Settings › Account). Cancelling stops future payments. To get money back, see the Refund Policy.
Changing plan
You can switch between monthly and yearly in the app (Settings › Account). The app shows Paddle's price for the change first: the unused time of your current plan is credited against the new one, and the new plan starts at once.
Switching to Lifetime
If you buy Lifetime while you have a subscription, the subscription ends at once, and Paddle refunds the unused part of its current paid period to your payment method. You never pay twice for the same time.
Price changes
We may change our prices. A price change never affects a period you've already paid for. If the price of your subscription changes, we'll tell you before you're first charged the new price, so you can cancel first if you prefer.
Refunds
Every payment for Pro, the first one and every renewal, can be refunded in full if you ask within 14 days. The Refund Policy has the details.
Your licence to use SessionCollab
As long as you follow these terms, we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use SessionCollab for personal or business use, within the limits of your plan. You can use the music you make with SessionCollab for any purpose, including commercial releases and client work.
To protect SessionCollab's licensing, you agree not to:
- get around, disable or tamper with SessionCollab's licence checks, or help anyone else do so;
- crack SessionCollab, or make or share anything that unlocks Pro without a valid licence;
- sell, rent or otherwise transfer your licence or your account;
- share your account or licence so that Pro is used on more than 3 computers at the same time;
- reverse engineer, decompile or modify SessionCollab, except where the law allows it despite this restriction.
Acceptable use
Use SessionCollab lawfully and with respect for others. Don't:
- share content that infringes anyone's copyright or other rights, or that you otherwise don't have the right to share;
- share illegal content, or use SessionCollab for fraud or spam, or to harass or threaten anyone;
- use sessions to store or distribute files unrelated to making music together;
- spread malware, or anything else designed to harm other people's computers or data;
- attack, overload or probe SessionCollab's services, or try to get into accounts, sessions or data that aren't yours;
- abuse sign-in, free trials or refunds, for example by requesting large numbers of sign-in codes or creating accounts to get more trials.
Your music and sessions
Your music is yours
You keep all rights to the music and other content you create or share with SessionCollab. We claim no ownership of it.
When a session runs on SessionCollab's relay, you allow us to store, copy and transmit what you share in it, only to run the session for the people in it, and only for as long as we keep the session. That permission ends when the session is deleted. We don't look at what's in sessions, except where it's needed to keep the relay working, to look into a report (see Reporting content), or where the law requires it. If you send us files to get help, we use them only to help you.
What you share
When you share something in a session, such as a Set, audio files or MIDI, SessionCollab copies it to the other people in that session. You're responsible for what you share. Make sure you have the rights to it, including any samples, loops or recordings made by others.
Working with others
Who owns a track you make together, and how you share credit and income, is up to you and your collaborators. SessionCollab doesn't decide it. It's a good idea to agree on it early, in writing.
Invite links
Hosts invite people with links that give either edit or view-only access, or by email address. An invite link works like a key: anyone who has it can join the session with that access. Share invite links only with people you trust. A host can make new links at any time, which closes the old ones.
Removing people
The host of a session can remove people from it, and ban them so they can't join again. Someone removed keeps what they already received in their own Live. A ban also withdraws the invites the host sent them for that session that are still waiting.
The relay
SessionCollab's relay keeps each session's Set, its changes and the files shared in it, so that people can join and catch up even while others are offline. A session stays on our relay until it's removed. To have a session removed, email us at [email protected].
Reporting content
If you believe that something in a session on SessionCollab's relay infringes your rights or breaks the law, write to [email protected]. Tell us who you are, what the content is, which session it's in if you know, and why it should be removed. We'll look into it promptly. If we find that content breaks these terms or the law, we may remove it, end the session, or suspend the accounts involved, and we'll tell the people affected where it's reasonable to.
Ableton Live and other software
SessionCollab works with Ableton Live, which you need to buy separately from Ableton AG. Ableton's own licence terms govern your use of Live. "Ableton" and "Live" are trademarks of Ableton AG. SessionCollab is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Ableton.
SessionCollab can only do what Live allows add-ons to do. Because of that, some parts of a Set can't be synced, and future versions of Live may change what SessionCollab can do. We can't promise that SessionCollab will work with every future version of Live.
Your Sets may use plug-ins, instruments, Max devices, samples or sounds made by others. Their own licence terms apply. SessionCollab doesn't give anyone the right to use them: each collaborator needs their own copies, and their own licences where required.
SessionCollab also relies on services from other companies, such as Paddle for payments, Cloudflare for hosting our services, and Google if you sign in with Google. Their own terms apply when you use them.
Availability and updates
We work to keep SessionCollab's services running, but we don't guarantee any level of availability. They may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance, when one of our providers has a problem, or for reasons beyond our control.
Sessions need SessionCollab's relay. Signing in, starting a trial, buying Pro and renewing licences need our servers too. If our servers can't be reached, Pro keeps working for up to 14 days, as described in Plans.
Updates
We may release updates to fix problems, improve security, keep up with new versions of Live and of operating systems, or improve and change features. You may need to install some updates to keep using SessionCollab, for example if an older version can no longer work with our servers. Lifetime licences include every 1.x update.
If we stop offering SessionCollab
If we ever decide to stop offering SessionCollab, we'll give you reasonable notice in advance.
Backups
Keep your own backups of your Sets and audio files.
Before SessionCollab changes a Set on your computer, for example when joining a session replaces the Set you have open, it saves a copy of that Set on your computer. It keeps a limited number of recent copies. They contain the Set file only, not the audio files the Set uses.
These copies are a safety net, not a guarantee. Software, computers and networks can fail, and anyone with edit access to a session can change or delete parts of the shared Set. We can't guarantee that you'll never lose work.
Our rights in SessionCollab
SessionCollab belongs to us and our licensors. That includes the app, our online services, their code and design, and the SessionCollab name and logo. These terms give you a licence to use SessionCollab, not ownership of it, and no rights beyond the ones they describe.
SessionCollab includes open-source components. Their own licences apply to them, and nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licences.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely, without any obligation to you.
Disclaimers
We build SessionCollab with care, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we make no promises about SessionCollab other than those in these terms. In particular, we don't promise that SessionCollab will:
- always be available, uninterrupted, secure or free of errors;
- work with every computer, network, version of Live, plug-in or setup;
- sync every change perfectly. In real-time collaboration, changes can conflict, arrive late or not apply the way you expect.
As far as the law allows, we exclude all implied warranties and conditions, such as merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. If you're a consumer, you may have legal rights that these terms can't exclude, for example that digital content must work as described. Those rights still apply.
Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows:
- we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost income, lost opportunities, or lost or damaged music or other data;
- our total liability to you for all claims about SessionCollab is limited to the amount you paid for SessionCollab in the 12 months before the event that led to the claim.
These limits don't apply to liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit or exclude, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or, in some countries, for intentional or grossly negligent conduct.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using SessionCollab at any time. To leave completely, cancel any subscription, then delete your account in the app.
We may suspend or close your account, or stop issuing licences to it, if:
- you break these terms seriously or repeatedly, for example by abusing licences, free trials or refunds, or by sharing content that infringes others' rights;
- it's necessary to prevent fraud, including fraudulent payments or chargebacks, or to protect the security of SessionCollab, its users or others; or
- the law requires it.
When it's reasonable, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. If we close your account because you broke these terms, we don't owe you a refund for any remaining Pro time, unless the law requires one.
If your account is closed, your licence to use SessionCollab ends. The parts of these terms that are meant to last, such as those about our rights, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law, continue to apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when SessionCollab changes or the law requires it. If we make a material change, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect, and the app asks you to accept the new terms. If you don't agree with them, stop using SessionCollab and cancel any subscription before they take effect.
We last updated these terms on November 3, 2026.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
If you have a problem with SessionCollab, please contact us first at [email protected]. Most problems can be solved quickly that way. If we can't settle a dispute together, the courts of the Province of Quebec, Canada will decide it, unless the law gives you the right to go to the courts where you live.
General
- Whole agreement. These terms, with the documents they refer to, are the whole agreement between you and us about SessionCollab.
- Transfers. You can't transfer your rights or obligations under these terms without our written permission. We may transfer ours, for example if we sell or reorganize our business, as long as your rights aren't reduced as a result.
- Events beyond our control. We're not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- Invalid parts. If a court finds part of these terms invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce part of these terms right away, we can still enforce it later.
